The Crown Lights of the PECO Building Tested Today
While sitting in my apartment this afternoon, I happened to look out the window and see the PECO building light up for the first time since New Years! I was even more surprised to see the lights in color for the first time in my life - Red, Green, and Blue tests went on for about 30 minutes. Here are some pics I shot out my windows:

Does this mean the message board will be permanently back on soon? Does anyone know?

I sure hope so. I’m moving at the end of the month and would love to see the lights at least once from my condo.

I believe the lights are supposed to start working on July 4th.

Ugly. Intrusive. Garish. Light-polluting. Peco’s new displays couldn’t be much brighter, more gaudy. The display for the Franklin Institute is especially vile with multicolored heads of Ben Franklin rolling the length of the facade against glaring colors!
People complained about the Blue Cross logo when it appeared on their building - that logo is
nothing compared to this. PECO’s display is probably 300 times bigger than the Blue Cross logo.
PECO’s display’s is Times Square!
Not for a moment should you expect to get rid of these odious graphics - they can do ‘em, so they will! But for darn sure they could cut back the candlepower - a LOT!
At present, it’s like a prison yard with a searchlight circling constantly.
I go out on my deck - I feel like Bogart escaping from Sing-Sing!
What the neighborhood around PECO should expect is: first cut the brightness way, way down!
Say something
