I don’t consider myself a computer novice, simply because I generally have a good idea where to find solutions (GOOGLE!!) but I was attacked by a few Trojan Horses last night and I was not too pleased.

Since then, I’ve decided it’s a good time to share some of my favorite Anti-Virus, Anti-Spyware, Anti-Malware programs out there.  In a pinch, they have saved the day!

First: AVG Anti-Virus is the best Anti-Virus program out there and yes, it’s totally free!  So, get rid of that Norton crap.  You have to update every year for a fee and if you don’t, you wonder if you’re getting the same protection.  Not worth it. AVG all the way!

Next, Spybot Search and Destroy is the program of choice for Anti-Spyware.  This is the stuff that hides on your computer and sends your  bank account number to someone in Eastern Europe.  And yes, Spybot is also free. Starting to see a trend?

Finally, there is a great Malware program, Malwarebytes that gets rid of…honestly, I’m not even sure what the gist is, but it saved my computer from a nasty Trojan Horse and for that I’m grateful. Oh yeah, and it’s free!
