Phillies Magic Number: 1!!!!
The Phillies’ magic number is one. That sentence sounds quite beautiful. The Mets lost and the Phillies won today. Perhaps that feels so good to say because I lived in New York last fall and it was hard to watch the Phillies pound the Mets and have everyone say, “Oh, the Mets gave it away.”
Well, today, the Phillies are taking it. The Mets didn’t hand it over willingly, but we are taking it anyway. Take that Shea.
This might be one of the most depressing articles a team writer has ever written about their own team. If I were not rooting for the Phils, I would almost feel bad for the Mets after reading this article…Almost.
