Phillies in First Place of NL East Division!
With the Phills’ nail-biting win tonight and the Mets’ loss, the Phillies finally reclaim what is rightfully theirs: the top position of the NL East! Call me biased, but the Phillies deserve to have the NL East title. While I’ll take playoff berth any which way I can get it (beggars can’t be choosers) I’d love to see us knock off the Mets one more time!
It looked like Lidge was going to blow the save tonight, something he never does. He walked the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth, but struck out Gregor Blanco to win the game and secure the Phillies 5th straight victory.
It’s a good night in Philadelphia.
