Moda Mio? Mama Mia!

To innaugurate our return to Philadelphia, my parents, sister and brother-in-law took us to Modo Mio. Translation: My Way. Located in Fishtown, this BYO restaurant is freaking awesome. I’m not ever going to bother with an exclamation point because it wouldn’t do the restaurant enough justice. I’m probably not the first to review the place (in fact, I know I’m not because its been around for a while) but I think its worth mentioning that I enjoyed Modo Mio just as much, if not more, than Mario Batali’s Babbo in the West Village. The plates were unusual, creative, visually stunning, and most importantly, savory.

Highly recommended: The 4 course price fixed menu for $32/person. You get to choose one from each category: Antipasti, Pasta, Secondo, and Dolce. The portions are not huge. However, after ingesting 4 of them, you will be more than satisfied. The best part: You actually have room for desert!

One important thing to note: They are closed for Summer vacation now through September 2nd. Hit it up after Labor Day.

Did I mention it’s BYO? bring that vino, yo!
